Say-say! It's your host. Remington.
You know that original blend of music and conversation you've been looking for? Well, listen to this!
Music is essential to life. Rhythms and patterns can be found everywhere. From the drip of water from a rain pipe to the seeds inside a sunflower the universe is built on mathematics, so it makes sense that syncopated bleeps and bloops elicits a reaction from all living things.
Music is a huge part of everyone's life. Everyone has their favs, essentials and historically significant joints so Dessert First Network (DFN) decided to dig deep in the mind crates and pull out the jams from some of the coolest people around. Smash cut to the creation of the I Made You A Mixtape podcast hosted by Remington Cleve.
The point is to gain deeper understand and appreciation for our fellow man through the medium of music. You can listen to a lawyer’s playlist and hear death metal. You can listen to hip-hop producer’s playlist and hear Barbra Streisand. You can listen to a ballerina’s playlist and hear N.W.A. If nothing else, it's a good way to get new and awesome music into your life.
Our esteemed guests curate a list of ten songs especially for you. They then explain, track-by-track, why they chose each song and what significance it holds for them. After the interview you can hear all of the songs uninterrupted by anyone gushing over the arrangement or their sick chord progressions. We are already two episodes into our journey so if you haven't listened, jump in beautiful! There's a sample scoop here, and full servings here and here. Much respect and love to Zachary Stuckmann, Alison Neidt Toonen and all the guests we have coming up. Like and subscribe to #IMYAMT on iTunes and SoundCloud. Make sure to check back every Tuesday for new episodes. Let us know your favorite songs in the comments.
Music brings people together and this podcast is DFN’s love letter to music makers and music lovers alike. I Made You A Mixtape is getting to know you, ten songs at a time.
